Some of our “Best Loved” Festive Afternoon Teas
It’s the season for Christmas parties, socialising, and merriment. Yet alongside all the fun and festivities, wouldn’t it be nice to slow down, find some peace and quiet, and have a good old cup of tea?
This December, many of the Best Loved Hotels have combined the two; giving you the excuse to meet up with loved ones for a delightfully festive get-together. However, for this particular activity you can remain in your comfiest clothing, and there’s little worry of a sore head the next day – we’re taking about Festive Afternoon Teas of course!
This year there was almost too much choice amongst the 180 Best Loved Hotels, and so we have chosen a selection of our favourites to share with you:
Cotswold Hous
Trade in your cuppa for a Mulled Wine at Cotswold House, plus their Festive Afternoon Tea includes Christmassy twists such as Turkey & Cranberry Finger Sandwiches, a Yule Log, Gingerbread Biscuits and Macaroons – delicious!
The part we Best Loved: We love a good walk, and Cotswold House considers itself “the gateway to discovering everything that is glorious about the Cotswolds” – so wrap up warm and really earn your Festive Afternoon Tea.

Orestone Manor – Festive Afternoon Tea Parties
We couldn’t create a list of Afternoon Teas without one of our Devon properties included! Orestone Manor encourages groups of 6 or more to sample their Afternoon Tea, and when you do they’ll give you crackers and festive table decorations at no extra cost.
The part we Best Loved: The location has to win this one – they call themselves a “Country House Hotel by the Sea”, and no matter if it’s sunny or stormy, the views from this hotel are simply breath-taking.

Fredrick’s Hotel have gone (jingle)-all-the-way with their Festive Afternoon Tea. Not only do they include a Gold Brownie Bar, a Lemon and Frankincense Drizzle Cake, and Spelt, Hazelnut and Myrrh Scones, but you get a free gift to take away with you as well!
The part we Best Loved: The fact that this Festive Afternoon Tea can be taken in their “Winter Garden” – an indoor conservatory style area overlooking the gardens, complete with under-floor heating to keep you toasty!

The Milestone – Getting you into the Christmas Spirit
The Milestone Hotel is simply stunning at Christmas-time when the hotel is beautifully decorated and the hotel is lit with twinkly lights. Their Afternoon Tea is fit for royalty serving treats such as éclairs, tartlets, cupcakes and macaroons.
The part we Best Loved: If you tell them which treat you liked best, they will bring you another one! Not great for the waistline, but oh well, it’s Christmas!
